Working Pontoon Boats in Survey

An 8 metre naval architech designed pontoon
boat. She has a beam of 3 metres and is constructed
from 5083 marine grade aluminium.
This one is powered with a 115hp Yamaha four stroke outboard motor for low
speed Tourist cruises on the Waikato River up to the Huka Falls. She would also
suit higher hp rigs for faster cruising.

This boat is designed to take a bus load of passengers. She was launched on
18-7-06.


"The Floater" This 3.8 metre pontoon dinghy is being
used on a sewerge pond. It is fitted with fold up wheels.


DOC's 3.8 metre Pontoon Dinghy is fitted with a short shaft 15hp
Honda motor and is used around the Rotorua Lakes


These two 4.2 metre Centre Console Pontoons are being used
as survey and monitoring boats at the
Safata and Aleipata Marine Protected Areas in Samoa.


Left: The 4.5 metre Pontoon Cuddy Cabin is being used in
the Marlborough Sounds. It is powered with a 40hp Honda.
Right: This 4.5 metre Centre Console was built with removable plank seat and
maximum clear space for netting during fisheries research. It is powered with a
30hp Mercury

This 4.5 metre "special" was built for University of
Waikato.
It is used for electric stunning of fish.

These 2 photos are of a standard 6 metre Rigid
Aluminum Pontoon Boat with many optional extras built for
Mr Peter Sanders of the Papa Aroha Holiday Park on the Coromandel Peninsula, New
Zealand.
This boat is used for dropping rock fishermen on to isolated and
otherwise difficult to get to fishing positions.

University of Waikato's 6 metre Pontoon with a cuddy cabin built
to suit their requirements.


NIWA also use a 6 metre pontoon boat with many extras to suit their
special requirements.

These photos are of a 7 metre pontoon built for Graeme Van
Praagh who is operating on Lake Tarawera, New Zealand, offering an exhilarating,
scenic experience. The front opening hatch and fold out steps allow easy access
to secluded Tarawera beaches. Powered with a 225hp Four Stroke Yamaha. Graeme's

capable of operating in shallow water, it is powered with a Hamilton jet.
